Miko S.r.l. was established in 1997 and immediately set its HQs in Gorizia. At the beginning of its activity, the company was focused on the production of a non-woven fabric, mainly used in the furniture sector, thanks to the use of an advanced technology, different from the common weaving. Consisting in the dense union of artificial or synthetic fibers, held together through mechanical, thermal or chemical treatments, aimed at forming a uniform and resistant veil.
Thanks to the foresight and entrepreneurial spirit of the Corporate governance, as well as constant investments in research and development, it has been possible to refine and experiment other products, which culminate with the creation of Dinamica®, the first ecological microfiber with high performance, adaptable to multiple sectors of application, especially the automotive one. In fact, thanks to this new high-performance product, car interiors constitute almost the entire production by Miko S.r.l. and still represent a constantly growing market.
Moreover, thanks to the purchase of company shares by Sage Automotive Interiors in 2015, which represents one of the world leaders in the automotive sector for the supply of car interior fabrics, it has been possible to decisively continue the path of consolidation and growth of the Dinamica® brand, also by virtue of the solid and vast network that Sage Automotive has on a global scale.
For the company and product characteristics, the Company has been selected and chosen by some of the most important automotive manufacturers for car interiors, which make it distinctive both for its ecological credentials and for its product’s unrivaled technical qualities and unique aesthetic characteristics.
Miko is present also in the sectors aerospace, furnishing, contract, marine and fashion.

Organization and governance
Miko S.r.l. is a limited liability company, has been acquired by Sage Global Automotive S.r.l., which is, in turn, controlled by Asahi Kasei Corporation.
2015 has been a decisive year for Miko as Sage Automotive Interiors, multinational company in the automotive sector for the supply of car interior fabrics, with Headquarters in South Carolina (USA), acquired the majority shares of the Miko Group together with Asahi Kasei Corporation, a Japanese industrial giant and a world leader in the production of substrates for the production of Dinamica®.

Ethical profile
With the clear aim to declare and highlight, both outside inside, the company’s approach towards the reduction of pollutants, the preservation of the environment, the commitment to continuous improvement, accident prevention, the fight against climate change and sustainable development Miko S.r.l. has drawn up its own Code of Ethics, that is constantly updated.
This fundamental document is aimed at ensuring correctness and transparency in the conduct of business and in business activities and at protecting the company’s position and image.
In fact, the Ethical Code is given to each employee and to each supplier, in order to help collaborators be more responsible and stimulate an ethical behavior from a social and environmental point of view.
Sustainability strategy
The company strategies start from analyzing the context and from listening attentively to the various stakeholders; then they are elaborated and declined in the three responsibilities for sustainable development: environmental, economic and social.
Being able to find and understand the needs and expectations of the various corporate stakeholders is fundamental for a governance system focused on corporate social responsibility, and it requires the ability to integrate into its own company strategy, based on creating value, the sustainability issues.

On the basis of this requirement and using as an operational tool its quality manual for context analysis, Miko S.r.l. has identified both external and internal factors that are relevant for its aims and its strategic directions. Moreover, to make sure to maintain an up-to-date perception about the aforementioned elements, these factors are regularly monitored and reviewed at least once a year, usually within the Management Review activity. Such activity is also functional to set up, if necessary, corrective actions to continuously improve the quality of management.
